Terms of Service

Welcome to DictoGo! Please read the following terms carefully before using DictoGo (“the App” or “DictoGo”). By using DictoGo, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with all terms listed here. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please stop using the App immediately.

1. Service Description

DictoGo is an app designed specifically for English learners, providing word lookups, dictation practice, AI-assisted learning, speaking coaching, learning album creation and sharing, content import, and related functionalities (“Services”). The App is available in Free, Basic, and Pro membership tiers with different feature access. We reserve the right to adjust, optimize, or upgrade the provided services at any time, subject to actual availability.

2. Eligibility and User Accounts

  1. You must be at least 4 years of age (4+) to use DictoGo. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
  2. When registering or using DictoGo, you must ensure that the provided information is accurate, true, and complete. You agree to update this information promptly if it changes.
  3. You are responsible for protecting your account and password. Do not share or transfer your account to others. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
  4. You are fully responsible for all activities conducted under your account. Any losses caused by account security issues shall be borne by you, unless proven to be directly caused by DictoGo’s negligence or fault.

3. Membership and Subscriptions

  1. Membership Tiers. DictoGo offers three membership tiers: Free, Basic, and Pro. Features available to each tier are subject to change at DictoGo’s discretion and will be displayed in the App.
  2. Subscription Plans. Paid membership (Basic or Pro) is available through monthly or yearly subscription plans. Pricing is displayed in the App and may vary by region.
  3. Auto-Renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  4. Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period, unless required by applicable law.
  5. Refunds. Refund channels depend on where you purchased your subscription. For App Store purchases, please request a refund through Apple’s official reportaproblem.apple.com process. For Google Play purchases, please request a refund through Google Play support. For web purchases paid by credit card or Stripe, you may contact support@dictogo.app within 14 days of purchase to request a full refund.
  6. Free Trial. If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during the trial period. At the end of the free trial, your subscription will automatically begin and your payment method will be charged unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  7. Price Changes. DictoGo reserves the right to change subscription prices. We will notify you in advance of any price changes and give you the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.

4. Device Usage

  1. Device Limit. Paid membership (Basic or Pro) may be used on up to two (2) simultaneously active devices per account. Free account device limits, if any, will be displayed in the App after they are confirmed and implemented.
  2. Device Management. When the device limit is exceeded, DictoGo may automatically replace the oldest active device with the current device. No manual device selection or cooldown is available in this version.
  3. Account Sharing. Accounts are for individual use only. Sharing your account credentials or membership benefits with others is prohibited.

5. User Content and Copyright

  1. You retain ownership of intellectual property rights for all learning materials, articles, audio files, subtitles, and other content (“User Content”) created, uploaded, or shared by you through DictoGo.
  2. By uploading or publicly sharing User Content on DictoGo, you automatically grant DictoGo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, modify, distribute, and publicly display such content for purposes of promoting, showcasing, and providing the App’s services.
  3. You must not upload any content that infringes intellectual property rights or violates relevant laws. DictoGo reserves the right to remove such content without prior notice and pursue legal action as necessary.
  4. You shall be solely responsible for any claims or disputes arising from your User Content. DictoGo assumes no liability for such disputes or claims.
  5. AI-Assisted Content. DictoGo may use AI tools to assist in generating learning content (such as AI sentence explanations, speaking feedback, or article summaries). AI-generated outputs produced through the App’s features during your use of the Service are provided for your personal educational use. You acknowledge that AI-generated content may not always be accurate and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional language instruction.

6. Third-Party Content and Educational Use

  1. Neutral Tool. DictoGo is a neutral language-learning tool. DictoGo itself does not provide learning content; content is imported, created, or uploaded by users. DictoGo does not proactively review or monitor user content before it is imported or shared.
  2. User Responsibility. You are responsible for ensuring that any text, audio, subtitles, articles, or other materials you import, create, upload, or share through DictoGo comply with applicable law and do not infringe third-party rights. Any infringement claims arising from your content are your responsibility.
  3. Limited Educational Functionality. DictoGo may process user-provided or user-imported content only to the limited extent necessary to provide language-learning and educational features, such as segmentation, translation, subtitles, summaries, or speaking practice. DictoGo does not claim ownership of third-party content and does not substitute for the original work.
  4. Copyright Complaints. If you believe any content on DictoGo infringes your copyright, please contact copyright@dictogo.com with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location; (c) your contact information; and (d) a statement that your complaint is made in good faith. We will acknowledge copyright complaints within 24 hours and process valid notices promptly under applicable law.

7. User Conduct and Responsibilities

When using DictoGo, you agree to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and you agree NOT to:

  • Upload, publish, share, or distribute content that violates any laws, regulations, public morals, or infringes upon the rights of others.
  • Upload content containing obscene, pornographic, gambling, violent, terrorist, racist, discriminatory, defamatory, malicious, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate materials.
  • Intentionally upload or distribute computer viruses, malicious software, or harmful content that may damage DictoGo’s systems or other users’ devices.
  • Reverse engineer, hack, or breach DictoGo’s security mechanisms.
  • Interfere in any way with the normal operation of DictoGo’s services.
  • Use DictoGo’s services for commercial or profit purposes without explicit authorization from DictoGo.
  • Share, sell, or transfer your account or membership benefits to any third party.

DictoGo reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts violating the above rules and pursue further legal actions.

8. Privacy and Data Security

DictoGo respects and protects user privacy. Information collected, such as your email, IP address, unique identifiers, and study records, is used solely to enhance your user experience, ensure account security, and prevent misuse. We promise that:

  • DictoGo collects phone numbers only when you choose phone-based registration or login, or when required for account security verification. DictoGo does not collect GPS location unless a specific feature clearly requests it and you grant permission.
  • Collected data is used internally within DictoGo only and will not be shared or sold to third parties.
  • Users can easily delete their account at any time within the app. Upon account deletion, related personal data will be permanently removed.

9. Disclaimer of Warranty and Liability

  1. DictoGo does not guarantee that the provided services will fully satisfy your requirements or that services will be uninterrupted and error-free. DictoGo will strive to ensure service reliability and resolve interruptions promptly.
  2. Users assume all risks associated with using DictoGo, including, but not limited to, unsatisfactory learning outcomes or data loss due to improper use.
  3. DictoGo is not liable for service interruptions or data loss caused by third-party factors, including but not limited to network issues, equipment failures, or government actions.
  4. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DictoGo’s total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to DictoGo in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Service Modification, Suspension, and Termination

  1. DictoGo reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate some or all parts of its services at any time based on actual circumstances. We will attempt to notify you in advance, but prior notice may not always be possible in urgent or special situations.
  2. DictoGo reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate services to users who violate these terms, without prior notice or liability.
  3. Upon termination of your account, your right to access the Services will immediately cease. If your account is terminated due to a violation of these Terms, you will not receive a refund for any remaining subscription period.

11. Amendments to Terms and Notifications

  1. DictoGo may periodically update these Terms of Service to reflect technological advancements, legal requirements, or service adjustments.
  2. Updated terms will be posted on DictoGo’s website (https://dictogo.app) along with the effective date. Users are responsible for regularly reviewing these terms.
  3. Continued use of DictoGo after the revised terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  1. These Terms of Service are governed by and construed under the laws of Australia.
  2. Any dispute arising from these terms or use of the services shall first be settled through amicable negotiation. If no agreement is reached, either party may bring the matter before a competent court within the jurisdiction where DictoGo operates in Australia.
